Why mum’s don’t have time for the gym

I’m a mum of of 2 boys – ages 8 and 3. I love them to absolute bits but as a parent it does feel like you spend all your time running around after everyone else in the house with very little time for yourself.

I’m sure you can relate, right?

The morning kicks off anything between 5am (yawn) and 7am (woohoo, a lie in), and as soon as the monkey’s have opened their eyes the day has begun…

  • breakfast
  • getting them ready for school
  • a quick tidy round of the house (if there’s time)
  • search for the car keys
  • out the door for the nursery and school run

It’s hectic, and its only 8.30am!

Since having the kid’s, they come first, there’s just no time for you – but you really want to get back into exercise. There’s no time for your favourite class or gym session’s, and personal training pfft, that’s a no go – the added expense for one, let alone finding the time to schedule not into your week.

By the time, you have dropped the kids at school, you have either got your other little one to look after or to drop at nursery while you head off to work, along with cooking, cleaning, washing, the school run and nursery pick ups, after school hobbies, home to cook dinner, finally bath the kiddies and put them to bed. Before you know it, it’s 8pm and the last thing you want to do is drag yourself out to exercise.

The day’s all roll into one, the same routine each day with no break. Week’s have gone by, then months and you want to do something for you but you just don’t see how you can fit it in.

The parent’s life, ay! But it doesn’t have to be like this.

Do you miss that feeling of when you’re all sweaty after your class or the gym? You finish and your heart’s racing.. what a feeling of accomplishment! If you’re not someone who trains, this is the feel good factor everyone raves about – ENDORPHINS!! and what a feeling, you feel like superman/woman!

You can still get that feeling training at home with a home workout plan. Rocking out of bed in the morning to smash your working in your pj’s, or when the baby is asleep during the day. Fit it in each day at a time that suits you, and the best bit – you only need around 20 minutes spare! What a sense of achievement to know you are into a consistent exercise routine, and you don’t ย have to give up hours of your day to see and feel those body changes you want ๐Ÿ™‚

And finally feel like YOU again.
