5 beginner workout tips
Bikini season is right around the corner. Time to get into shape! However, if you’re not used to exercising then, getting started can be a struggle. You may have no idea what you’re doing. But these tips are designed to help you whether you plan on hitting the gym or home workout.
1 – Have some fun.
The thought of exercising may sound like hell to you, so search for types of exercise you think you may enjoy 😁. Not keen on the gym? Try a home workout. Not a runner? Go for a swim. Don’t want to train alone? Book a class. Want to let off some steam? Try a boxing workout or unwind with some yoga. Like to dance? Try a dance style class like clubbercise or zumba. There are literally hundreds of options for you to try nowadays. You are more than likely to get the exercise bug if you enjoy what you are doing.
2 – Find a friend 👭.
You’re less likely to skip exercising if you think someone is else depending on you. A friend can keep you accountable especially on those days that you are not really in the mood, then your friend can pick you up and get you exercising with them. Seeing someone else’s struggle to get fit can provide both caution and motivation to your own life. If you don’t have any friends that want to go on a weight loss journey, you can easily find one online.
3 – Get kitted out.
For some workouts, you’re going to need equipment. Free weights, a yoga mat, an exercise ball etc. What you need obviously depends on what you’re doing. Buying exercise equipment is always good investment in into your long term health. Equipment such as adjustable dumbbells, resistance bands and a yoga mat are very cheap to buy, especially compared to some gym memberships. Remember an investment in your health is always justifiable.
4 – Set a goal
Things in life are easier if you know what you’re trying to achieve. If you want your exercise plans to be successful, always set a specific goal. Maybe you want to get a six-pack. Maybe you would be happy if you no longer huffed and puffed up the stairs. It doesn’t matter what your goal is. The point is that you’re working toward something that you can clearly define.

5 – Start today
It’s easy to put off starting your exercise routine forever. The truth is there will never be a perfect time to start, you just need to start. Start today. It doesn’t matter how you start or what you actually do. It maybe going for a walk or a beginners stretching routine, the point is that it’s exercise and you made that jump and started. Whatever your age, ability or experience level it’s never too late to make a start.
